IN THE SERVICE – Bywaters, Mafort, Lambert, Youngman

Bywaters

Navy Seaman Bruce Bywaters completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Bywaters is a 2004 graduate of Nevada Union High School.



Mafort

Navy Seaman Apprentice Stephen Mafort recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.




He is the son of Elain Mafort of Nevada City, and a 1998 graduate of Nevada Union High School.

Lambert

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Thomas Lambert and his fellow shipmates, assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 146 attached to Carrier Air Wing 9, recently departed to the Persian Gulf in support of the global war on terrorism as part of the USS Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group.

He is the son of Lydia Fahrney of Rough and Ready.

Youngman

Navy Airman Brandon Youngman has received a Letter of Appreciation from the Secretary of the Navy for assisting in tsunami relief efforts during Operation Unified Assistance in Southeast Asia, while assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard, homeported in San Diego.

He is the son of Robyn and Todd Youngman of Grass Valley. He joined the Navy in October 2003.
