I-beam display small and disappointing

In the last couple of years, my family and I have decided on going to the fair one day a year. We found that things are getting too expensive and we couldn’t afford any more than that.

Well, we decided to go on Wednesday, (opening day) for one reason and one reason only: to go and see the memorial that was setup for 9/11. When we got there, we were very saddened to see that there wasn’t much to it. The I-beam sat on a small table with one thing of flowers and a stack of cards on each side of it for the exhibit coming to the Imaginarium for the missing family members of 9/11.

I thought that there would have been more set up to honor that day. The theme of the fair and the Fourth of July parade was red, white, and blue, and had to do with honoring our nation’s heroes. I thought for sure our county would have done something to show greater respect for what happened. Not to say that it’s not held in all of our hearts.

After 9/11, I was proud to see our fire stations having their drives to raise money all over the county.

I really wish they would have done more at the fair, like putting pictures and more information and flowers surrounding the I-beam. Having the I-beam here in the first place was very touching.
