Herron touched us

Vivian Herron was magical. She touched all of her readers in a way that only gifted writers can.

I can still remember roaring with laughter at her truck column. My husband and I wanted to take a ride in our “seasoned” ’75’Ford to Washington, but we had not done that yet. Now we will to show our respects to Vivian.

How many times after I read one of her wonderful columns did I plan to write a “kudo” letter to the editor about her gifts. If only I had taken the time.

Vivian, if you can hear us now, know that you were special and gifted. Thank you for sharing your humor, your love of Washington, and your wisdom. I for one will never, never forget you.
