Helping the veterans

The Nevada County All-Veterans Task Force would again like to thank the entire community for your outstanding support. We recently completed our sixth annual Veterans Standdown successfully. Our volunteers were thanked over and over by the many participating veterans. Over 214 took advantage of the services that were offered by the 35 agencies during the two-day event. They really appreciated the opportunity to improve their lives.

They got this opportunity because of the many generous donations of goods and services and funds from our citizens. Without this commitment to our veterans from individuals, local organizations and agencies, and several businesses including The Union, it would not be possible to conduct such a large project successfully.

Many veterans from past and current wars have been returning to civilian lives and jobs right here in Nevada County. They will be and are looking for our help in getting reestablished.

With your continued generous contributions and support, we plan to be ready again next year to provide those veterans with the assistance they need. They were there for us; now we must be here for them.
