Help sought to bring kids to the theater

Community Players wants to give fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade children enrolled in the PAL program an opportunity to experience theater.

The goal is to raise $1,846 by June 1 so 71 children in the program can get two tickets each to see “Oliver” July 27 at Center for the Arts, 314 Main St., Grass Valley.

Gold Country Kiwanis and Bob Nix have contributed, but community support is still needed. Checks may be sent to Community Players, 11880 Goldfinch Court, Penn Valley, CA 95946. Call 432-3457 for more information.

The PAL program was established to give disadvantaged children a chance to succeed in school and to develop into good citizens. All children enrolled are given a big pal from the high school.
