Hayes plea bargain

With great weariness, I learned of the district attorney’s agreement to plead out the Larry Leffingwell murder case. Larry was a friend of mine. He broke his rib defending me against a Marysville crankster determined to climb on stage and disturb a show we were playing at The Main Event (a club in downtown Marysville). Turns out another crankster from Marysville took his life for a couple of days wages. Larry lost a couple of days work for that act of bravery, we lost the gig after the club was asked to pay for the damages. Lauren Hayes loses maybe eight years after time off for good behavior. I begin to lose faith in a justice system that seems to work on both sides of the law only for the rich and prominent.
