‘Hate Drew’ writers should get a life

I just returned after a four-week trip to be present at the birth of our first grandchild. In the process of catching up on the news, I’ve had to endure 19 “hate Drew Bedwell” (my husband) letters to The Union from paid employees, paid consultants, and paid “volunteers” of SYRCL.

It is hard to believe that serious-minded environmentalists would buy into this nongovernment organization (NGO), self-preservationist, corporate rhetoric, much less contribute to the negativity.

Incidentally, the controversial $110 million in grant funding received by SYRCL, “money brought into the county,” was a direct quote from SYRCL’s Director Janet Cohen as presented in a Dec. 2003 article in The Union (her photo op with our new governor).

Have you noticed that Janet has yet to answer the questions: Where’s the money, who got it and what’s it being used for (except for the paid staff, consultants and “volunteers”). I’d suggest SYRCL employees need to find a non-taxpayer-subsidized job, or at least get a life!
