Grieve for stolen lives

Drew Reynolds’ death has devastated his family and all the people who loved him. The sadness has spread out to the rest of us who never knew him but have only now learned what a remarkable person he was.

This community has been pulled together by pain and anger and calls for the harshest possible punishment for the man responsible.

But jail visits with Scott Krause have been very different from what I expected. They’ve shown me someone who gave up hunting, did only catch-and-release fishing, is interested in art, astronomy and architecture, and spent a summer volunteering in France helping to restore an old chateau.

So I grieve for Drew, and for Scott, and for all the other young people whose lives have been stolen by methamphetamines.
