Sarah Smith, a 2000 graduate of Grass Valley’s Mount Saint Mary’s Academy and a 2004 graduate of Nevada Union High School, recently graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

Smith was active in the Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society, serving as UNR’s chapter vice president her senior year. She attended a number of Beta Alpha Psi national conferences, and presented several papers. She also was active in Beta Alpha Psi community service programs in the greater Reno area.

Smith was an intern in the Information Technology Department of Reno’s Renown Hospital Group her junior and senior years. She works in the Information Technology Department with the Superior Court of Washoe County in Carson City, Nev. She is scheduled to attend three weeks of technical training on the county’s IT software systems in Seattle, in late September.

Smith lives in Reno, Nev., and plans on doing her graduate studies work at the University of Nevada campus in Reno.

She is the daughter of Tim and Peggy Smith of Nevada City and is Nevada City native.
