Government busy bodies

I salute the editor’s Thursday article shaming the local Grass Valley government for threatening to cite Tom and Matt Weaver for parking a few vehicles at their new taxpaying facility awaiting a permit.

Also a Thursday article states you can get a Forest Department wood-cutting permit if you also have a shovel with at least a 46-inch long handle.

A 46-inch handle? (Wouldn’t long handle eliminate the minutia?) Who are these people who sit around trying to educate and control us common folk with their superior intellect?

The 46-inch handle did not specify the diameter of the handle. Probably an oversight.

Will Rogers perhaps said it best: “Thank God we don’t get all the government we pay for.”
