Good things happening

In these times of bitter conflict and political rancor, it seems appropriate to report on some of the positive things going on in our community. Thus, as a volunteer for Wolf Creek Community Alliance, I would like to point out the generosity of the Nevada Irrigation District staff.

When we needed a place to store our testing equipment, they provided us with a room. In addition, they have given us a place to hold meetings for our fledgling organization. And to top it off, two members of NID’s staff joined our creek monitoring program and, along with 24 other volunteers, are participating in gathering water samples and vital information about our local streams on a monthly basis.

The Wolf Creek volunteers are excited about the prospects of protecting and enhancing our community by developing the hidden potential of Wolf Creek watershed. We envision pleasant trails along a healthy creek, winding through our community and enriching our lives through its beautiful and healthy rushing waters.

The people at NID are helping to make this happen.
