God took him home

On Friday, Oct. 8, a young man with the world by the tail didn’t have to die. Who on God’s green earth would hit someone and drive off? (“No leads in hit-and-run,” Oct. 13.)

This has been extremely hard on my family, as my son and his friends were also in Nevada City celebrating my son’s 21st birthday with Pete. When my son came home, he was so excited that he got to celebrate his birthday with Pete.

In the last six months we have attended too many funerals. Our friends and families are getting smaller and smaller. It seems as though there really is no regard for life. By the way, Peter has a mother, father and a sister. So I pray from the deepest part of my spirit that the person who could drive away and let such a beautiful and talented young man die on the side of the road with no regard for human life rots in hell.

As Pete’s life was truly getting started, God chose to take him home. He was so talented and loved by so many. His memory will surely never die for us.
