Give Lions the credit

Rudy S. Kutchar

Saturday, May 29, the Cousin Jacks Lions Breakfast Club had 10 members as a clean-up party at the Veterans Memorial Park, where they cleaned all the memorials and especially the walls, since there was to be a dedication fro the third wall.

The walls were scrubbed with soap and water, and the WWI Memorial was cleaned and graffitti spots were repainted. The lights at the 30-foot fiberglass flagpole were cleaned and new bulbs were replaced, all at the Cousin Jacks Lions expense. They had already painted the flagpole.

Before Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, the Cousin Jack Lions Breakfast Club plans on a major repair on the WWI Memorial. Our club has not been given any credit for all our work in the Memorial Park, such as the exposed aggregate roadway between the Memorials and other items such as stairs behind the WWII Memorial, and the lights on the WWII flagpole.
