Future generations pay for selfishness

Your recent article of “to log or not to log” is one of but many similar issues facing our country.

After years of deficit logging, that is, leaving future generations with less than we received, why are we uncomfortable with putting a little something in the bank for our children and grandchildren?

Responsible use of resources must be a core “family value” if we are to avoid bankrupting future generations. We are using up this planet unsustainably.

When LaSalle descended the Mississippi River in the 17th century, sturgeon could be seen swimming deep within its waters.

The degradation of our home will come to haunt the future, and they will look back at us and curse our selfishness.
