Free symposium on ID theft set

A free symposium on protecting privacy and dealing with identity theft will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. April 26 at the Lake of the Pines Clubhouse.

Sheriff Keith Royal of Nevada County, Ralph Petty of the U.S. Postal Service, and Michael Behn, chief information officer of Citizens Bank of Nevada County, will discuss steps people can take to protect themselves.

The event, sponsored by Citizens Bank, is open to the public, but reservations are required. Seats can be reserved by phoning 268-2870 or 478-6000.
