Fleet Reserve Convention

The Auburn Branch 296 and the Ladies Auxiliary will host the Fleet Reserve Association West Coast Region Mid-Year Convention on March 5 and 6 at the Auburn Veterans Memorial Building, 100 East St. in Auburn.

All enlisted and officers who have had at least one day of enlisted service and are active or retired Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard members are invited.

Meet the national President Joe Maez, national Vice President George Kaye, national Financial Secretary Jerry Sweeney, past national President Dick Smith and past national Treasurer Larry Boudreaux, as well as many other regional dignitaries of both the FRA and the LAFRA.



On March 5, at 4 p.m., there will be an open hospitality room with a no-host bar, heavy hors d’ oeuvres, and registration.

March 6, at 8:30 a.m., is the Call to Convention. At 9 a.m. will be the opening ceremonies with color guard, introductions and the guest speaker, followed by the first business session. Lunch will be provided at 11:30.




The second business session is at 1 p.m., followed by “happy hour” and dinner at 5:30 p.m. For reservations for lunch or dinner or for more information, call 885-5809.
