Flag retirement ceremony set

On Saturday, Sept. 28, the American Legion Post 130 will sponsor a flag retirement ceremony. If you have any old flags that are soiled, tattered or torn and need to be disposed of, this is the proper way.

The location is Memorial Park, Les Eva Baseball Field at 7 p.m. If you can’t be there, please drop your old flags at the Memorial Building on South Auburn St. at the Veterans service office on the left side of the building. There is a sign over the door for the Veterans Service office. There will also be containers at the SPD markets in Grass Valley and Nevada City, and Albertsons. Look for the poster, which reads in large letters, “FLAG RETIREMENT.”
