Fire cause unknown

The cause of the fire that burned a modular house on Scotts Flat Lake Road Wednesday is still unknown, 49er Fire District Chief Dan Kopp said Thursday, but the cause is not considered suspicious.

The early morning blaze destroyed the home of longtime Scotts Flat Lake Road resident Millie Pozar, who escaped injury. A structure next to the home also burned to the ground.

An estimate of the damage has not yet been established, Kopp said, but that could be done within a day or two.
