Fervor that ‘we’ are right is dangerous

What appears to be fueling the Bush administration’s drive to override the collective wisdom and will of the world, which opposes a war in Iraq, is its sense of moral superiority.

The administration seems to believe we have a holy mandate for war, which it maintains with the same intense fervor as any fundamentalist position, absolutely convinced that “We” are right and “They” are wrong.

Herein lies the danger the world faces today as we march forth to yet another holy war, wrapped in a shroud of unshakable righteousness.
