Fathers have sold soul

Re: Richard Colombini’s column – Feb 17, I AGREE, TOTALLY! “Smart Growth,” not “New Urbanism” “Squeeze ’em in.” “Damned the general plan.” Developers are eager to make a killing and leave a mess!

Phil Carville’s development will “lie lightly upon the land.” NOT! The city “fathers” have sold their souls for Rock ‘n’ Roll. Along with the Realastallers! The traffic is a mess. Funding for fixing it lags far behind in infrastructure financing, because of sudden, uncontrolled growth. Funds are not going to catch up to the pace of growth. We will be living in two towns soon to face urban sprawl.

The General Plan is being overlooked! The City of Grass Valley has been sold a load that will fatten ONLY its government budget! I, like Mr. Colombin, feel that we are doomed rather than delighted with the suggestion that FOUR developments in this small area will enhance our current lifestyles … If these developments are allowed, we lose the beauty and quaintness of our beautiful foothill towns. Say no! Nip it in the bud! You will never see the bloom of beauty on these foothill towns again.
