Farm Bureau backs NID candidate

The Nevada County Farm Bureau has endorsed candidate John Drew for the Nevada Irrigation District board of directors.

Drew is running against Ron Mathis for the Division II seat, which includes the Chicago Park area.

President David Galliano said the bureau is backing Drew, an organic farmer, because, “The board felt it was imperative that agriculture be represented on the NID board, as 90 percent of the water sold by NID is used by agriculture.”
