Family of the Year sought

The Nevada County Fair is searching for the 2002 “Family of the Year” to be honored at this summer’s fair. Nominations are due May 1.

Nominees should be county residents and active fair goers with a passion for the event, perhaps exhibitors from previous years. They can be nominated by a family member or someone outside the family.

The family that is selected will be honored at opening day ceremonies and will receive free admission during the fair, plus tickets to concerts and other arena events. Unlimited carnival ride passes will be given to immediate family members. The family will receive special recognition during the VIP picnic before the fair.

Nominations should be made by sending a letter, long or short, to Family of the Year, Fairgrounds Office, P.O. Box 2687, Grass Valley, CA 95945. Letters can also be delivered to the office, 11228 McCourtney Road, by the May 1 deadline. For more information, call 273-6217.

The 2002 fair runs Aug. 7-11.
