Don and Sharon Fairclough of Grass Valley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently. They were married Dec. 7, 1952, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Palo Alto.

To mark the occasion, the couple celebrated with a Thanksgiving service at Trinity Episcopal Church in Nevada City and a luncheon for family and friends at their home.

Mr. Fairclough is a retired educator, having taught at Nevada Union High School for 33 years. His current interests include golfing, hiking, fishing, skiing, canoeing, traveling, watercolor, piano, and volunteering at the library.

Mrs. Fairclough is a retired financial planner. Her current interests include golf, hiking, canoeing, gardening, travel, the Friendship Club and church activities.

The couple moved to Nevada County in 1957.
