Fair dog demos slated for The Green

Today at 4 p.m. at the Nevada County Fair on The Green there will be a dog agility demonstration put on by area dog trainers.

Children of all ages are invited, and there is no charge for fairgoers.

Agility is an obstacle course that the dog is trained to run through at maximum speed and accuracy. The trainers will attempt to keep up.

There will be more than 25 dogs of many breeds: papillon, Yorkie, Westie, chihuahua, pug, Australian shepherd, border collie, Brittany spaniel, Labrador retriever, sheltie, shar pei and lots of mixes.

The dogs have been rescued from the pound or found abandoned. The dogs are purebreds, do therapy work or work on search and rescue.
