Expecting more ‘crises,’ ‘threats’

Now that Bush’s lies about fictional WMDs that supposedly posed an immediate threat to the U.S., and nonexistent Iraqi ties to al-Qaida and 9/11 as excuses for his war on Iraq, have been fully exposed as complete fabrications, our mis-leader has fallen back to justifying his war on the basis that Saddam was not a nice guy, and the world is better off without him.

Well, duh! Who’s going to argue with that!

The real question is whether it has been worth 520 (and counting) American soldiers dead, thousands injured and maimed, and $200 billion (and climbing rapidly) to remove Saddam on the sole basis of his being a bad person. I doubt that very many of the family and friends of the soldiers who died think it was worth it.

We know now that Bush and his cronies were planning to make war on Iraq from the moment they stole into office. The real reasons Bush went to war when he did was so he could look like a tough guy before the next election and so his buddies could get their hands on Iraq’s oil. Expect more puffed up “crises” and terrorist “threats” throughout the election season.
