Ex-teachers go to workshop

Six members of the Nevada County Division of California Retired Teachers Association attended the Sept. 24 annual fall workshop of Area II, which includes seven divisions and extends from Yuba County to the Oregon border and east to Nevada.

The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize members with programs designed to enhance and protect the benefits of retired educators. Approximately 70 members from throughout the area attended. Attendees from the Nevada County Division were Betty Hatch, president; Gary and Carolyn Clarke, first vice presidents; Marjorie MacMillan, treasurer; Marian Hughes, secretary; and Jack Meier, insurance chair. Polly Bacich of the Nevada County Division is the director of Area II and organized the workshop.
