‘Every 15 Minutes’

Whitney Nunnink

I am a Nevada Union High School student. I was very upset at the lack of attention this newspaper gave to “Every 15 Minutes,” which took place on the campus of Nevada Union. That event had a major impact on the students as well as the community.

It is upsetting that you would give auditions for a prom date more than twice the coverage in which you gave “Every 15 Minutes.” There were hundreds of people from the community involved as well as many high school students. I myself was not involved in the program itself, but was deeply impacted by the event.

It is obvious that you do not see the importance of publicizing one of the most important events at the high school. It makes me and many other very sick that you would think high school sports and auditions for a prom date are more important than a program and event that can and probably will save lives. Even if this makes people aware and saves only one life, it was one life that deserved living.

Editor’s note: You are right to be upset – that NU did not tell The Union about the program.
