Environmentalist propaganda

The March 24 Other Voices “Brush Clearing won’t solve problem” was a rambling piece of environmentalist propaganda. The 2003 San Diego transplant writer’s assertion that the “evil ecosystem” is being destroyed by “me and my kind” as we attempt to make our property fire safe is absurd. Yes, human behavior must be modified (no cigarette butts out the car window and stop arsonists).

However, Mother Nature’s lightening strikes are proven to be the major cause of wildland fires. And, the overused “global climate change” mentioned is a fear tactic based on flawed and skewed pop science. Check out Michael Crichton’s book, “State of Fear,” which contains an impressive and weighty list of bibliographic technical references exposing the global warming scam created 20 years ago by environmentalist eco-extremists. The bibliography alone is worth the price of the novel.

Comedian Dennis Miller may have a point in his line that “A developer is someone who wants to build a house in the woods. An environmentalist is someone who already owns a house in the woods.” It’s just great when new transplants to Nevada County start telling us what to do even before their engine blocks are cold.
