Election audiotapes made available

A series of audiotapes of election-related information in the Nevada County sample ballot booklet is available to borrow, said Nevada County Clerk-Recorder Lorraine Jewett-Burdick.

The tapes include the names of candidates as they appear on official ballots, arguments for and against local measures, and candidates’ statements. The audio tapes are free and may be borrowed from FREED, 154 Hughes Road, Grass Valley (272-1732); and Sierra Services for the Blind, 546 Searls Ave., Nevada City (265-2121).

The Secretary of State’s office produces audio tapes about statewide propositions. Those tapes should be available soon, Jewett-Burdick said.
