Effective management

The opposition to putting retail in the Litton Corporate Business Park (CBP) is really about effective land development. The intent of this CBP is to create a campus-like setting to attract corporate administration, research and development and professionals. It is uniquely suited for this purpose because of its size, beauty and proximity to the college and high school.

This CBP is already attracting medical practices, as well as legal, financial and other professionals. We need the higher paying jobs this CBP can bring to the community. Additionally, our students need to be exposed to these higher paying professions. Students could walk to the corporate campus to learn and intern while professionals could bring their experience and knowledge to the classroom.

Let’s not waste this unique location on more retail shopping, low paying jobs and housing. The 20,000 sq. ft. retail center, including BriarPatch market, is the first of many changes planned for Litton Hill. Calloway Development has proposed to develop most of the remaining CBP lots with 180 condominiums, 28 businesses with living space, a clubhouse, and storage units. This does not serve the best interests of our community.
