Dumb and dumber

The people of California, disgusted with high school students being allowed to graduate without a proper education, overwhelmingly voted for an exit test to determine if the students met the BASIC standards before receiving their diploma.

A pusillanimous idiot of an Alameda County judge (He probably doesn’t understand pusillanimous but he might understand idiot) decided the test was discriminatory and the students who failed the test could still get their diplomas.

Of course the test is discriminatory, it was intended to be. It was to discriminate between those who learned the basic requirements and those who didn’t.

I am a first-generation American and lived and went to grammar school in the “Flats” in Los Angeles. The Flats was a ghetto where foreigners lived in the low-rent district. Many of my fellow students couldn’t speak a word of English on their first day of school. They, however, were immersed in our language. No Spanish, Russian, German, Italian or any other language, just English. They went on to learn the 3Rs, and most of them became successful citizens – politicians, firemen, policemen, butchers bakers and candlestick makers. The ones that couldn’t learn became Alameda County judges.
