Dubya celebrates Earth Day the American way

Yessirree, with the latest Earth Day behind us, all decent, white, heterosexual, God-fearing, patriotic, conservative Christians cannot help but be thrilled with the extraordinary environmental accomplishments of our beloved president, George W. Bush.

Within the first year of his administration, this decent, white, heterosexual, God-fearing, patriotic, conservative Christian president has cut federal funding for renewable energy by 50 percent, abandoned a campaign pledge to invest $100 million for rain forest conservation, suspended rules requiring hard-rock miners to clear up their polluted sites on public land, eliminated funding for the Wetlands Reserve Program, slashed the Environmental Production Agency budget by $500 million, proposed opening up Montana’s Lewis and Clark National Forest to oil and gas drilling, initiated the abolishment of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, cut funds to clean up a toxic uranium-slag heap in Utah, cancelled the 2004 deadline for automakers to develop prototype high-mileage cars, expanded government authority of eminent domain to take private property for power lines, and encouraged EPA head Gale Norton to proceed with a plan to auction oil and gas development tracts off the Florida coast – and that’s just the beginning!

With three years to go (and, God willing, another four years after that), this wonderful man will have the opportunity to gut virtually every meaningful environmental legislation and safeguard of the last 30 years!

God bless you, George! Every decent, white, heterosexual, God-fearing conservative Christian supports you!
