Drew Bedwell slings mud

In The Union a reader tries to defend Bedwell against the charges of being a U.N. conspiracy nut. Well where have you been? I have heard and read Drew speaking and writing over some period of time accusing decent, hardworking, democratically elected officials of being Communists, Nazis, agents for the U.N. and sometimes all three in the same sentence. In short anyone who disagrees with Drew gets his particularly nasty, libelous, mud hurled at them. Superintendent of Schools Terry McAteer seems to be the latest target.

And speaking of Drew’s “right to vote” petition, well Nevada County did vote. We voted and elected some good hardworking people into office to represent us. Just for the record, that is called representative democracy. Again, just for the record, when a few thousand people try to usurp the powers of those democratically elected officials that is called anarchy. When the same small radical group of people won’t obey the laws that the majority of law-abiding citizens have to obey, that too is called anarchy. It seems Bedwell and his followers know precious little about democracy or representative government. He’s not the kind of man I want as a supervisor.
