Doolittle double-dips

Rep. John Doolittle has certainly learned a lot from Jack Abramoff. He has traded favors for PAC donations, and lots of them. For me, the most troubling action is double-dipping – he not only gets paid his Congressional salary of approximately $145,000, he also collects money to run for that seat.

His office reported having $800,000 in his campaign fund. Minus the 15 percent fee his wife collects on all campaign contributions, he apparently took in $940,000 to net $800,000. The other $140,000 went to his personal household income. No wonder he wants to keep his Congressional seat. So, all you donors to Doolittle, remember he is double-dipping. His wife’s commissions almost equal his Congressional salary of $145,000. By the end of the election cycle the commissions will probably greatly exceed his Congressional salary. Doolittle complains about the media attacking him – my conclusions are based on his actions and his own words.
