Don’t make it tough

It is very disappointing that the DeMartini RV development was in planning for almost two years before it was approved. The same residents that deplore the lack of affordable housing for their children don’t seem to recognize that a city without a sales tax base and jobs can’t provide for their children, either.

Requiring someone to revise their design three times and the countless expenses and carrying charges involved just discourage existing businesses to stay in the community. Since city leadership apparently urged Mr. DeMartini to stay in Grass Valley and worked with him to select the site, approve his plans and let the project move forward.
