Don’t blame patients

Yep, it’s the patients’ fault that quality health care services in Nevada County are beginning to decay and smell like a three-day-old flounder. You want to point fingers of blame? OK, how about aiming a derogatory digit at Hillary Clinton for the abomination called HIPPA? Then let’s look at the multi-billion dollar drug industry selling its questionable wares at inflated prices and spending more on TV commercials than on R&D and then trying to convince us that we can’t live a quality life without them.

Let us then turn our collective attention to our local hospital whose administration will not allow new health-care providers access to our hospital unless they jump on the HMO bandwagon. As far as I’m concerned, these pencil-pushing bean-counters at the monopoly that is Catholic Healthcare West are primary contributors to our doctor shortage. They are the ones who should be taken to task, not the patients who have the right to request and receive quality healthcare.

I cannot say enough good things about Yuba Docs, our urgent care facility in Grass Valley. Saturday about noon, a close relative had a close encounter with a chainsaw resulting in a pretty deep-looking gash…
