Donations needed for ski trip for special kids

The Nevada County Association of Developmentally Disabled is having its annual ski trip. A group of Nevada County Special Education students and adults with disabilities will be going to Donner Ski Ranch for a week of fun in the snow.

From March 3 to 6, they are scheduled to stay at the Claire Tappaan Lodge and participate in downhill skiing, cross country skiing and snow shoeing.

The trip to the snow has proven to be a valuable experience for this segment of Nevada County’s population. NCADD anticipates that 30 or more skiers will participate. Some of the participants can afford the trip, but many cannot. Some funding comes from the Tempura Booth at the Nevada County Fair and from private, individual donations. NCADD is looking for local clubs, businesses or individuals to help support this event. Those interested in donating winter equipment or donating to the general operating budget can mail donations to the NCADD, P.O. Box 112, Grass Valley 95945. Donations are tax deductible.
