Donations being sought for accident victims

A woman injured in a crash near Smartville earlier this week remained in critical condition Friday at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. Her baby daughter, however, is in good condition at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.

Rachel Ramey Weston, 21, who resides in Williams but has family in Grass Valley, crashed Wednesday while eastbound on Highway 20. She was flown to Sutter Roseville. Her daughter was identified as 13-month-old Helena by a UC Davis Medical Center spokeswoman.

Weston remains unconscious with multiple fractures, but she has no internal injuries, said her mother, Sue Ramey of Grass Valley.

To help with medical costs, a savings account has been opened at Bank of America at 134 S. Church St. in Grass Valley. The account number is 0845202786.
