Re your article, “Locals aid fire victims” (Aug. 16), kudos to the Wheelehans for finding a way to rescue their dogs. Shame on the cops for not allowing them in, especially since they let news crews in. If there had been a child in the home, would they still not have allowed them in? I guess it’s OK as far as the cops are concerned that the animals would have died a horrible death in the fire. Amazing!
