Doesn’t understand themes from comrades at Peace Center

Some common themes from the onslaught of letters from comrades at the Peace Center:

(1) Declare your veteran status, which distances you from common whining, bleeding-heart liberals, and confers instant credibility. Prior military experience does preclude soft headedness; witness Sen. McCain and Kerry.

(2) Defer to the wise counsel of Germany and France; European superiority is unquestioned. Recently a French politician proposed ending the proliferation of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction by having that country’s legislative body make them illegal. True brilliance, non?

(3) The weapons inspectors should be given more time. For what, and how much? Still awaiting rational answers.

(4) Given this country’s dismal record of wreaking havoc throughout the world, we cannot be judgmental about Iraq. If you don’t recognize the infinite moral superiority of this country over Saddam’s regime, you are beyond hope and should devote your life to cultivating and consuming medical cannabis.

(5) Innocent Iraqis will die when we go to war. Correct, but infinitesimally less than their beloved leader has already sadistically butchered, and when it’s over, Iraq will be liberated. How the “peace movement” can rationalize the implicit support of one of the most notorious despots in history is beyond me.
