Docent volunteers needed at center

Placer Nature Center in Auburn is seeking volunteer docents to lead groups of school children through science learning activities in the exhibit halls and on the nature trails at the foothill site.

Training for new docents will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 14 to 30. Volunteers will learn about the plants and animals of the foothill ecosystem, habitats and life cycles, resource conservation and the native Nisenan.
