Dinner, auction to support exchange students

The local chaper of the American Field Service is holding a dinner and silent auction Sunday to support outgoing exchange students from western Nevada County.

The silent auction will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Seaman Lodge in Nevada City’s Pioneer Park. Dinner will be at 5 p.m. Cost is $10 for the evening, including dinner, and $5 for children under 12.

Foreign students who are leaving and Nevada County students who are returning from foreign countries will be on hand to discuss their adventures.

Hosted students are: Andrea Baum from Germany, hosted by the Landon family; Sonia Karnani from Paraguay, hosted by the Zderic family; Uiloq N. Kleist from Greenland, hosted by the Miller family; Yurina Machada from Japan, hosted by the Smith family; and Robbie Sackmaier from Austria, hosted by the Reed family.
