It’s understandable that “Fahrenheit 9/11” will/has triggered different responses in each person.

The staunch Republicans may, rightly so, feel disrespected and everyone else may or may not find pieces falling into place. I didn’t hear or see anything radically different from what I’ve heard, piecemeal, previously in the media. It was just put together in a chronological timeline.

Something I did take from “Fahrenheit 9/11” was the heart-opening connection to the families who’d lost loved ones on 9/11 and in Iraq. Moore had a powerful way of portraying both experiences. If you’re going to see “Fahrenheit 9/11” with anger in your heart, yes, you will find reasons to further justify this anger, be it for or against.

During this film I asked myself: Does anger engender peace? Do I really want peace or just to feel vindicated? In the quiet, nonpartisan depths of my heart and mind, these questions vied for answers, and I wondered what answers I would find within to justify my next step, my next thought.

Do my thoughts follow the precept, “To thine own self be true,” and if not, how can I expect positive change in my self, family, community, country or world?

Sharon Seck: Kudos to Yuba Docs

I cannot say enough good things about Yuba Docs, our urgent care facility in Grass Valley. Saturday about noon, a close relative had a close encounter with a chainsaw resulting in a pretty deep-looking gash…
