Deputy sheriff’s group endorses Sutherland

The Nevada County Deputy Sheriff’s Association has officially endorsed Robin Sutherland, a challenger in the race for District 4 supervisor.

“After consideration of all the candidates for Board of Supervisors in District Four, the Nevada County Deputy Sheriff’s Association endorses Robin Sutherland,” according to a press release issued by association president Mike Mariani.

Sutherland said she was honored to have the deputy sheriff’s endorsement, and pledged her support for local law enforcement.

“These are critical services, and we have to ensure that our police departments are adequately staffed and equipped to do the job,” Sutherland said. “Lack of proper equipment and staffing could jeopardize their lives while they’re fighting to save ours.”

Sutherland is running against incumbent Elizabeth Martin and challengers Rene Antonson, Bill Steele and Michael Harris.
