Demolish gas station

I currently attend Nevada Union High School and pass by the old Terrible Herbst gas station on East Main Street every day. Every so often, a tractor or vehicle can be seen moving around the property or the temporary chain-link fence being slightly jostled, but that’s about as much progress that’s been gained in the past several years. Since the gas station’s closing, the lost has been an eyesore to everyone and is a waste of space in a busy part of town. I’m not sure of the state or condition of the tanks underground, but they could possibly be contaminating the earth right now.

The old structure should be demolished and a new building constructed in its place. Hopefully, something can be done in the near future, despite the complicated plans in the works for a roundabout at that particular intersection. Taking these steps will make Grass Valley even more beautiful.
