Democrats let us down

Other people’s views on Social Security remind me of a questionnaire I received decades ago. Legislators were thinking about lowering or eliminating the tax. Billions of dollars earned a trillion interest. They figured the system would be solvent, earning interest. Some years later we began to hear about trouble ahead. Why?

President Bush senior urged his Democrat majority Congress to pass a bill that would prevent Social Security funds from being used by the General Fund. They refused to cut off their source of pork spending.

What’s happened to Social Security also happened to California’s rich economy, bankrupted by a Democrat majority administration – highly paid foxes in charge of the people’s henhouse.

There’s an old saying – “Don’t listen to what they say, but look at what they do” – that describes those who pretend to be for the working man, pick his pocket and destroy his employer.

The answer to saving Social Security is to put it in an interest-earning trust that can’t be used for anything other than for what it was intended. It’s not Gov. Arnold’s fault that the state’s in a financial bind, nor the Bush family’s fault that Social Security has problems. Try looking in the mirror.
