Deep concerns

I have deep concern for what President Bush is attempting to do to the Social Security system. I would like to encourage people to write our Congressman to support “popping the cap” as proposed by AARP or lifting the point at which wages are no longer subject to Social Security taxes. This makes the most sense without putting the entire system in jeopardy and insuring that everyone pays his/her fair share.

It appears that Bush’s real motivation is to give more money to the financial institutions. Even the Associated Press reported (see page A6 of the Jan. 11 The Union) that any member of Congress who doesn’t support his proposed change, “will face a price at the ballot box.” How could he predict this unless he knows that election funding will be withheld and by whom other than the financial institutions? Please show Rep. Doolittle that there is no groundswell of support and that the President should not bully him into voting for this unwanted change.
