E. Christina Dabis of Grass Valley and Paul Appleby of Derby, England were married Nov. 7 at the Eric Rood Administrative Center.

The ceremony was officiated by Lorraine Jewett-Burdick, Nevada County Clerk-Recorder.

The bride is the daughter of Cynthia “Bertie” Brem of Grass Valley. Her father is deceased. She is employed by the County of Nevada as Treasurer Tax Collector.

The groom is the son of Thomas and Emily Appleby of Tavistock, England. He is a computer programmer and multi-media producer.

The best man was Mike Ferguson of Nevada City.

What originally started as a small wedding consisting of four people quickly grew to include family, friends and co-workers of the bride as well as members of the public.

Lorraine Jewett-Burdick performed the marriage ceremony in the presence of 100 or more observers in the foyer of the Eric Rood Government Center.

The couple lives in Grass Valley.
