County’s yours to ruin, sleeping voters

It is unbelievable what some people consider to be “threats to property rights” in this county. I am living among some real dunderheads.

NH 2020 contains “threats to property rights” (I have seen few to none in my research into NH 2020), and yet it’s fine for NID to really trample on property owners’ rights. So, extrapolating from that, if the government does it, that’s bad, but if a private entity, such as NID, does it, that’s fine. Go figure, voters in Nevada County; wake up.

Also, it seems to be OK for some folks in planning here in the county to OK a huge 190-home development. (With no greenbelts whatsoever, this is definitely not clustering. It amounts to sprawl, in fee simple, period.) Amaral’s plan also includes a “community” leach field with a noisy pumping station, to be foisted on all Nevada County taxpayers, of all things! A planner I talked to a few months ago stated, “That’s so we (the county) can monitor it!” Baloney. This is a very thinly disguised ruse to get a much higher density than should be allowed in our beautiful rural area. For god’s sake, wake up, voters. Nevada County is yours to ruin.
