County worker remembered

On the stormy evening of Feb. 19, the colleagues of one of this community’s most knowledgeable, beloved and respected county case workers honored the retirement of Nancy Zeno-Hamilton.

Many laudatory speeches were made, also referring to her volunteer work. I was one of those speakers and forgot to thank her for the work she performed for those families coping with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. From 1998 through 2003, she would report early on a Saturday morning to register participants for the “Memory Walk,” later called, “Steppin’ Out for Alzheimer’s.” So here’s yet another, “Thank You, Nancy.”
